Put E-3s on a few weeks ago and so far I like them. This weekend I doing a 700+ mile trip and will have a better report.

Don't forget - you gotta determine if you want whitewalls on that or not. I'm in the market for a rear tire too, but I want WWW. Whitewalls severely limit your options. They're not available in the Elite IIIs, and any other manufacturer I've looked at didn't match the load capability of the stock Dunlop 402s .

Michelin = French made

I will NEVER put anything French on my vehicles or in my home. Metzeler 880 is a great tire. I have over 10,000 miles on my Metz and they look new still. I will put them on my bike again this spring. Great tire in wet and dry conditions

I LIKE THE DUNLOP ELITE 3s, they seem like they dont follow the tar snakes in the road or the grating on metal bridges like the stansard dunlops do.

Has anyone tried the Maxxis Classic?

I have 18k on my RKC and the Dunlop 402's. My front tire has dry rot and is cupping and my back tire is going fast (it has 10k on it). I have heard that the metzlers delaminate and that Maxxi's are pretty good as well. Found the Maxxi's on line for 85 bucks which is a huge savings for me since I've been laid off since December and am planning on switching over when I get them. Just wanted to know if I've made a good move.

Not to kick a stick with a dead horse, but my folks bought me a Dunny for Christmas. I took it to the dealer and paid the extra $6.00 and traded it off for a Metzeler!!! Just pulled off the rear wheel today (raining like Seattle in Las Vegas today) and I'll drop it off for mounting Monday.
