Ready for some new rubber

Tire wear is dependant on many things... loads, road conditions, and even heat cycles. I replaced the OEM Dunlops with Metzlers and was impressed (as I knew I would be) with the grip, but alas the rough NC roads wore the Metzlers out in about 10k. I opted for a Dunlop E-3 rear tire and got about 12k on that one. Price wise, the OEM, Metzler 880, and E-3 are all close enough in price, as to make THAT a non-issue, or at least around here...

Good ol Stock D402's..no problems, handles well, Did a trip (BRP) thought I had enough tread, got home tire was bald, but I looked back and some of the twisties and very hard downpours with wet road, I was on..and said WOW...the D402 never flinched or gave me trouble... But I am only getting around 9000 out of them I am not an agressive rider , you guys getting 14k-15k..do you walk your bike?

When I bought my bike it had 2 brand new SHINKO????? tires on it. They stuck like no other especially on the bigger bike. But the rear wore completely out in 3600 miles. I took the bike to my independent mechanic and he said "you want to die? those tires completely suck" So I trusted his judgement as I always have and went with the Dunlop Elites. Haven't put but 200 miles on them so far. I do notice they do not ride grooves in the pavement especially on the interstate near as bad, and they don't flex as much so it took care of most all of the "wobble" I had. But as far as sticking in curves, I don't lean in any more 30 MPH exit ramps at 60 anymore. But hey, its not a sport bike so for cruising and value I think the dunlops are great. My cousins rear AVON on his Street Glide lasted 6000 and it was throwing chunks of rubber off when it finally gave out.
