Default left lean, wandering

This maybe rider headgames, but every now and then my bike feels like it wanders within my 1/3 of the lane. This seems to happen even when there is no wind and I am not inputing anything into the handlebars. Also, sometimes at stops for no apparent reason it seems to lean to the left, never right. I may go literally thousands of miles and not experience this and then all of the sudden it happens??? I'm puzzled, maybe it is just me and it really probably is, but I thought I would ask since it drives me crazy!

Have your dealer check the rear wheel alignment and make sure the bushings located in the swingarm are not worn.

You've been listening to too many liberal talk shows. Dail in Rush Limbaugh before it's too late.

Sorrrrry. Couldn't resist. I can't think of a reason the bike would do it intermittently unless it's the pavement or wind. How about saddlebag loading. Too much weight on one side could affect.

I have had a constant pull to the left ever since I bought the bike new last March 05. When the swapped the rear tire it is even worse. I mentioned it to them after I picked the bike up and their response was, we test rode it and everything is normal.

Thoughts?

Take your lift, if you don't have one...get one, and get the rear tire off the ground. With the bike in neutral, spin the rear tire while watching the rear belt. See how it runs in the pulley. Is ithe belt off-centered and rubbing one side of the pulley, or is it running true and in the center of the pulley?

Now today, no wandering and no lean! I will take your all's suggestions and check the rear wheel alignment, swingarm bushings, and put it on a lift to check the belt/pulley. They sound like good places to start! Thanks guys.

Also watch the pavement closely. Does the road that you are on heavily traveled by tractor trailers ? They can over time and heat develope a slight valley in the left & right thirds of the lane. Also if your tire is at half life or less and it's starting to flatten from wear on the center patch and you ride one of those, it will feel like you are drifting around. And what Strtgld said, check those bushings !
