When you purchase car tires at Costco they fill the tires with nitrogen for free. I had a set of new tires put on my wifes car a year and 1/2 ago and it has never once needed any pressure added and they are always within 1 lbs of each other and they carry almost the same pressure no matter what the temp is outside.
But I still can't tell you the stuff is worth $12.

1. How do you purge 100% of the old air out without sucking the tire off the rim?

2. Since air is 78% Nitrogen, how bad can 22% Oxygen possibly be?

For $12 bucks, and you don't have to check, refill, and mess with the tires once a week or more like I do, I'd do it. Just can't find anyone around here that will purge and refill for that price. Go for it. We're in a new century naysayers, get on board....

WTF -- You send over $20K for a motorcycle, yet bitch about $12 to get better mileage out of a $250 tire ???? Yes I run nitrogen and at 9700 miles the rear tire does not show much wear ridding two up on the Ultra

I got my gas tank filled with Nitrogen. Now it doesn't seem to slosh around as much.

Cool N, the other invisible gas

I have been a pilot for nearly 30 years. Aircraft tires are filled with N for two reasons. Consistent pressure (110-130 PSI) and corrosion protection (dry, inert gas). I've also seen the racing application (high speeds). I live i Germany where speed is a way of life on the roads. Not one Duetcher has discussed using N in their tires, car or motorcycle.

Does anyone remember O2 bars? You know, you're feeling slow and sluggish so you go pay stupid prices for a hit of Oxygen. While the benefit either of these gases gives you, or in this case your tires, the benefit just doesn't justify the cost. If it makes you feel better or safer then go ahead and replace Oxygen and Argon saturated Nitrogen with pure, dry Nitrogen.
