Default how cold is to cold?

I live 45 minutes north of Harley home. In Wisconsin, it can get pretty cold. The coldest weather I rode in was New years day, 2005 when it was 28 degrees (it was sunny though). Anyone else as crazy, or should I seek therapy.

I bought a gerbing jacket liner a few weeks ago and I couldn't get over how well it kept me warm. Money well spent if you in the cold or riding at nite

Rode to the dealer for... something... can't remember...

Anyway, it was 20 degrees when I left (Road King - No shield, full-face). Didn't see any other bikes on the road that morning for some reason... There were actually a couple at the dealer before I left to go back home though.

Yes - I think that if I actually enjoyed that - other than the fact that I was certainly enjoying the ride - Well, I guess that means I enjoyed it... So now, I'm confused. I definitely didn't enjoy the minor frostbite on the thighs when I got home... But that's why I'm getting some flannel lined jeans that actually fit me this time.

Far be it from me to call anyone "crazy" or even "slightly disturbed" for riding in the cold. Riding on ice, riding on wet, salty roads - I'll draw the line there. But reasonably clean roads in the cold? Just dress for the weather.

The nasty weather ones - Those are the rides you remember.

Ride to work quite regular, down to as low as 20 degrees this year.
I don't care how cold it is as long as I'm riding.
At work I'm known as that idiot that's still riding.

Back in 1993 I bought my first Harley, a Heritage Softail. I waited 6 mos for that bike. It finally came in January and it was 11 degrees. I had so many layers of clothing on, I was like that kid Randy in a "Christmas Story". I couldn't put my arms down to my sides.

Thumbs up

I rode to work about a week ago at 13 degrees. I kept warm with a Tourmaster jacket liner and gloves.

Until I get my heated gear made, I use around 30 degrees as my limit (avoiding the ice if it's around)

I have ridden in as low as 0 degrees. Full face helmet and layers kept me warm but still could not keep my hands from freezing, I think I may have to get them heated gloves. The only reason I stopped riding this winter is because I have my motor torn apart. Everyone still calls me the crazy one too but if you gotta ride.....
