Default Backrest Install on RG?

I've got a HD adjustable riders backrest for my RG. It worked great with with an Ultra seat I had but when I try to use it with my RG seat the bracket is too high to for the seat to fit. Does anyone know if the bracket is different between a RG and an Ultra or am I missing a step on the install? Thanks guys.

Thats the only one they sell. Fits perfect with the Ultra seat. Sticks up on thr RG seat. I take the mount on or off depending on which seat I am using that day. Only takes an extra couple of minutes. I may chrome the bracket eventually, then I wouldn't mind it sticking up so much.

I'm not really clear on what you mean by, "the bracket is too high to for the seat to fit".
I have to kind of wiggle the seat onto my backrest bracket so it is just about to poke through the slot in the seat. It's supposed to be exposed so you can hit it with the backrest when ya want to plug it in.
