Mine is lowered in the back and it's on the stock 16" rim, yes every once in a while it scrapes, for me it's usually on a left turn. Mine are the add on 4" extension that is molded on. There cheaper in cost but not to mold them on then paint. Might what to order the bag already extended and deeper or you can order skid plates from Shooter64, you can use rivets, or nut and bolt to secure them. I painted mine black and no knows they are there. Gives me peace of mind.

My SG is only lowered in the front with 18in wheels front and back. I never even scraped my floor boards. (yet). If I do get stretched bags I will replace the bags and not get extentions. I think if I went with extensions on my current bags and got a seam line, it would drive me nuts. lol

I'm running the 4" stretch on my bags.
Had to put longer shocks on for the fear factor of scraping.

My advice, go with the 2" stretch unless you're gonna drag it around on a trailer.

I'll be looking at air ride systems soon.

I have yet to hit the bags. I have the foot boards moved out so I end up scraping them instead.

Almost tore the fender off this past summer on one of my road trips. Pulled out of a gas station and dropped down over the curb trying to dodge the incoming traffic. The fender held up, just chipped up the paint.

those extensions just bolt on too, I wanted to put them on my bike but my dealer would not sell them to me... the book shows them as a 'discontinued' part... wtf is that about the damn bike just came out !

Looking at that pic, wouldn't the pipes hit before you hit the bags?

This is not about a flat bottoming out. When in a turn you are leaned over, therefore the part or piece that sticks on that side that is low will hit first. This means your floorboards or your bags. As in the picture of the CVO RoadGlide above you would have to scrape off a good piece of the saddlebag to get to the pipes.

Do you have the part number? If so, do you mind sharing?

I HAD streached bags, and over the course of 8,000 miles I customized them. Now I have Metal Plates on them.

I found it was very easy to scrape the bag. I wouldnt say im an agressive rider but I do like to lean it over every so often in a corner
