King tp backrest on a chopped tp?

Default King tp backrest on a chopped tp?

I ordered the king tp with the nice backrest will that same backrest fit on the chopped tp?

Yes, requires drilling 6 new holes in the lid (comes with a drill template).

Yes, as Dawg says--the lids on the chopped and King TP's are the same mold and you will need to drill the six holes.

'05 and older backrests on Classics and Ultras had the flap (the small pad that hangs below the backrest) attached to the backrest. '06 and newer Classics and Ultras use a seperate backrest and pad with the pad attached with two screws to the TP bottom. Depending on the backrest you use, it may have the seperate backrest/pad which would require two additional holes (in the TP bottom) to install the pad.

Road Dawg, that TP with the large backrest looks great. And I'll bet the passenger loves it. My wife wants me to do the same. You don't happen to still have the template to drill the holes do you?

I actually didn't have anything to do with that. The template is not sold separately either. The lids are the same on the chopped as the king except for the holes so you could always get a king lid with the holes.
