Default 2009 FLHR's only--handlebar changes

I am wanting to change out the stock bars and not have to change out the cabling. I am looking @ the chubby bar 508 as a possible as it appears to offer the pullback I'm looking for. I want to use the stock cables. I have emailed chubby bars and did not get a very clear answer, as in, should work, tight fit, probably wont have to, might be able to...Has anyone done a bar change and kept they stock cables? if so, what did you use? 2009 Road King only.....I'm not interested in any other year. i would like to get the grips about 2" further back. I remember the day when ya could go from stock to 14" without cable change. But that was then and this is now.

I thought I had heard someone say they did the street slammers without changing cables. I put on RK Fatbars, but I changed everything....

I used the heritage style hadlebars, part number 56902-08. They'll fit your bike with out changing anything but the bar.

They made a big difference and were very easy to change. They also have a nice price of $79.95.

I've seen posts and have been told by at least one manufacturer that bars can be swapped using stock cables/wiring. BEWARE!!! I just swapped out my Ultra stock bars for WO575's and I could have done it but would not have been satisfied. There's a big difference between what you can do and what you may be satisfied doing. There is some additional slack in the clutch/throttle/brake lines and additional wire for the switches but not that much. Get specifics.

Regarding quality; The Wild One bars are AWESOME!!!

I have a 09 FLHR and switched to the hertitage/police bars. Also changed to poly bushings to help stiffen up the flex and get more response from the bars. Got the pull back I needed plus they sit me more upright so I don't feel like I'm looking down. if that makes sense. No cable changes either. Money well spent in my opinion.

+1 on the Heritage Style bars! No additional cables or lines required. Awesome bars & extremely comfortable. I'm 5'11 & they fit me like a glove.

Ugly on a Road King? Call this ugly?

That is what I have been looking for. Stock bar is just not comfortable. I am 6'1' and just want something a little taller. Did you install yourself?
