Shipping a bike
I got a quote back last night, to ship my bike from Columbus,In to Aricebo, PR. The quote was $1575 !!!!!!!!!! They wanted the same price for my 02 Dodge shortbed truck. What I need is a ramp/rail system to put the bike in the truck without dropping it. Then ship them together. Any comments, or shipping suggestions?

For the crate method, Go to your local HD dealer and ask about the aluminum shipping platform all of the HD's are delivered on. The tires have a pocket they fit into and have tie down points in the platform. Platform has pockets for a fork truck to lift from. OR do whats been done for years, 2x12 ramp and 4 tie downs. Two for the front and 2 for the rear.

The Military has shipped my bikes over the years, what i always did was went to harley and got one of there crates and then strapped the crate into the pickup bed. I have done it many times. I never had to buy a crate or build one i always just asked for one and they gave it to me, then when i got where i was going i stored the crate to use on the return trip, then took the crate back to them after wards.
