My '83 V-65 Magna was supposed to top out at 163 mph with a 150 lb rider. I could only get 155 mph out of her.

My speedo buries on my sg, but the zumo says it has never been faster than 114 mph.

My SG is very stable up to and including 100 mph. It doesn't take much to make it shimmy a bit above that speed, so I don't push it past 100 mph very often.

120 on my old Kawi Vulcan 1500D.

I've only had the SG up to 100, once, and it was purely by accident when I was trying to pass someone who decided to be a dick about it.

Normal cruising speeds range between 70 and 80. I just don't need to go any faster than that.

110 (so said the max speed on my zumo, i was going too fast to look down at the speedo) on the way to Rolling Thunder last year. coming down the hill riding at the back of a 12 bike group, just trying to keep up...damn that rubber band effect.

I think it's a good question, and the answers are interesting.

Rather than lecture us on personal safety, there is such a thing as "knowing you're right" and being silently smug about it.

I'd say 90 or so but, it was to get out of a box on I 95 north of Boston. try to stay around 70 or so. It is tough on that road though, traffic goes along at 80ish on a regular basis. Really great to hear the different opinions of the more experienced riders. Always learning something here!
Interesting and thought provoking thread!

On the old bagger been over 105 a couple of times. Last time was chasing a gold wing. He let off the gas and I did too and when I looked it was at 105 but I coasted for about a second. Now the Deuce will do 5500 in 5th.

80 to pass a truck. Other than that I never do more than 5 over the limit. The purpose of having a bagger is to enjoy the scenes. The faster you go, the faster you arrive at your destination. Isn't that a waste of time?
