Default Inner fairing care?

What is best for the inner fairing to wake it up to look like new. I have tried 303 Aerospace Protectant which is good but once I wash it then it is back to what is looked like before. What's the best you've tried?

Is having it painted cheaper than getting the color match fairing from HD?

I'm gonna go with painting. To me it sets the whole dash off. Gotta take apart to do some mods anyway. :-)

I bought one off Ebay, had it painted and did the switch in one day.
Take a lot of pictures and label everything, it makes the job easier.
A service manual will come in handy.
The ignition switch is a PITA!!!
If you mess it up do a search for:
This Page Fugged up the igintion switch

when I did my forks the other week I think I broke the code on the ignition. Take a screwdriver, line up the DOVETAILED slots on the top and bottom 'thingamajigs' at 2:00 and then insert the switch while its pointing the 'lock' position. Once I lined them up, it went together like butta. I struggled at 1st cause I didn't see that one slot was square and one was dovetailed (till I put my dang reading glasses on...lol).
