Default no sales tax? What about shipping?

Hey all I know there have been hundreds of different posts on here reference Zanotti's HD and their 20% discount on parts, what about tax and shipping? Do I have to pay tax since I live in Illinois? or No? Also shipping, are they reasonable? Or maybe even free? Man would that be nice, please chime in and let me know!

No tax, fair/fast shipping, great service at Zanotti.

I always look up parts on the Zanotti HD and Chicago HD sites and compare the parts price and shipping charges. Then I just take the bottom line. For the most part, I have found Zanotti to be much higher on their shipping charges.

Zanotti's seems high if you are ordering just one part....but as you add several parts to your shopping cart, the shipping fees get very reasonable.

I guess the next thing smart buyers might try is to play CHD against ZHD and let them compete for best price shipped......

Lowest shipping cost for me has been through Chicago Harley.

Shipping time has been great with the exception of parts that are on backorder. Then again, I quess the same would apply to any dealer.

Wouldn't the shipping costs be related to where you're located regarding their warehouse???

Shipping costs are the same for lower 48 at CHD, I have found them to be fair and the shipping is minimal based of amount of your purchase, weight, size has nothing to do with it. I buy all aftermarket stuff from Eastern Performance, never paid any shipping there.

Zanotti's does have 20% discount, but I have found that the 10% discount I get at my local HD dealer and not having to pay shipping turns out to be close enough to the same price that I would rather support my local HD dealer. Comes down to I would hate to see my local dealer go out of business and it is not worth it for me to save a few bucks.

May be different on larger items but on smaller items that is how it works out for me. Now if they offered free shipping then it might change my mind, or if I was ordering a $1,000 item.

If you want your local dealer around, support them or at least give them the opportunity to match the price.

Plus every Saturday my HD dealer has a free bbq and I love bbq!

I haven't used them yet, but perhaps they will become another known player in the online business.

Lake Shore Harley (in Illinois) offers a 20% discount with free shipping on orders of $500 and over.

I've used Zanotti's and CHicago HD. My next major order will be via these guys (unless my local dealer ups my 10% discount to 20%).

I live in Illinois so if I use a Illinois dealer I have to pay sales tax. I'm trying to find someone that will ship cheap so I can see and feel a difference in my wallet... anyone?

Thanks!
RJ
