V&H basic slipon 100$ worth it??

This is the first time I've heard of the packing burning out - I just bought a used pair of V&H Oval slip ons - does that mean over time the packing will also burn out and it get louder? - I think they are loud enough already 
- I think I will put in a call to Vance and Hines to see what they say also - I'll post the reply I get from them.

hi i have forund a deal i think. it is a set of v&h basic slash cut slipons, in perfict condition. they are for 95-08 touring. but i know they will fit on the 09.
i am not sure of the sound of them? i cant find a sound clip.
i realy want thunder headers but they are 515$ and thease are 100$
looking for your ideas,
are they worth it?
do they sound good?
should i buy them or wait for the thunder headers.
or mabe just try them and sell if not the sound i`m looking for

well i drove across the valley to get them today. they did have a few scratches from the heat shields. no biggie. they bolted right up. on the brake side the muffler does not have the indent like the factory one. i put a slight dent at the axle bold for clearance. when on the jack it does not hit.
so all that said the sound is deeper and louder than stock,
for me i believe it is what i was looking for!! and the wife is pleased. i did explain to her that i made 400$ for buying the pipes, she stared at me. i said that i was going to spend 500 but only spent 400 so its like being up 400 right? lol

- thought you bought the pipes for $100 not $400 - yes your right, that then puts you ahead at $400 - now you have $400 to spend on some chrome and extras for that new beauty
