For the Tabs, Work from the opposite side, reaching THRU the wheel for better and easier Access. That way you can also see the tabs to bend. I used a screwdriver to slip between the tab and Nut, pryed it open a bit, then pushed it with th e screwdriver. Then with a long extension, a Universal jointed Socket, the nuts came right off. Again, from the opposite side.

I did both front and rear, in about 20 minutes time, and without taking off the wheels.

How did you bend the tabs back?

Like they say on American Thunder, "On a scale of 1-10, it's about a 1".... You won't have any problem. Good advise above, I used the ratchet box end, not a socket. Eventually, I just went to the Street Glide front fender to get rid of everything....

Looks good 08HD, I removed mine on the 09 Ultra and I agree that it looks so much better, but I have friends who ask why'd you take the bumpers off? Duh! I didn't like them. I think you need the brace to remove your rear bumper on the 08 though, luckily the 09's don't need it.

i removed front and rear on my 2007 ultra and my bro did his 2008 ultra. We did buy the rear support bracket and had them powder coated flat black to blend it in with tire. I'm not sure what years need this besides 2007 and 2008. I don't have the part number handy since i'm @ work. It was a OEM part on 2007 and 2008 touring models that were not equipped with the ugly bumpers. Helps support the rear fender.
