Your site's link isn't working for the passing lamp info. The link for the headlamp conversion works though. $235 for the headlamp conversion - how much for the passing lamp conversion?

Default HD Fog Lamps

I just added the HD Fogs to my Road Glide; wired them into the accessory switch. The wiring was quite easy once I understood what conneted with what. They work great. Look good too!

I've got em, wired into the switch on the opposite side of my passing lamps. I really like them, but I don't use as much as I used to when I was on the east coast. Don't ride as much at night out here cause the critters. Just too many out there to risk it. When I am out there, and have to ride at night they really light up the area and help alot. Are they worth $140? I don't know. I got mine on sale for $29. One light was busted. They were new in the box from the dealer, so I bought em, and then just bought the one that was broken separately for about $50-60 as I recall. I figured they were worth $75-$80 that ended up investing, and they were. I think they look sharp too!

You 07FLHRC (MarinePatriot) who belong to HDF forum get a $85.01 discount for being a member for the headlight. I am glad that it does not work, you have to call or e-Mail me at my site. My post was not to sell stuff and no where in the post did I indicate anything other than for you to think outside of the box.

As far as a passing lamp set up I was not trying to sell anything here. This is just to show actual photographs and let you know what the difference is for yourself. I am stating that you do not need to buy extra fog lamps (if you have passing lamps already) and that you must use (forced to use) a Halogen bulb. The difference in the two are:
  • A 55 Watt H-4 SilverStar puts out 910 +/- 10% Lumens & a rated life of 150 hours.
  • 893 SilverStar Fog light 37.5 watt is 990 Lumens & a rated life of 100 hours.
  • A 35 watt HID puts out 3,200 Lumens with a light wave at the frequency of the sun 6K Kelvin) & a rated life of 3,000 hours.

The pricing is much less than the $149/each for the fog lamp in question, no need to add extra lighting to your bike, and use what you have. I only wanted to show you your options and have a choice in what you can buy.

The photos are very deceiving as the full magnitude of the lighting can not be realized without you actually being there. Seeing is believing. If you were to align up the two bikes side by side (one equipped with just the HD fog lamps & one with HID in your own passing lamps) and turn on both, the bike equipped with the fog lamps would have absolutely no effect, as it you never turned them on.

You can do what you like as this comparison is for your information only. I wish to show you what can be achieved when thinking outside of the box and not rely on catalogs of ready made products for your motorcycle.
