Well, The Rinehart True Dual mufflers are history (almost). After listening to them for 1500 miles they are just too loud for my taste, even with the quiet baffles.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the new Rush mufflers today. Called and talked with Jamie at Fuel Moto for quite a while. Real nice guy and was happy to discuss my issues in detail. Ended up buying the Rush Straight Cuts / 1.75 baffles. They will bolt right onto my Rinehart TD head-pipes so I am jazzed that I’ll get to keep the TD’s and only need to do a simple muffler swap. Jamie thinks my current PC3 map will be fine but also offered to assist if I have any issues after the change.

Once I do the swap, I guess the Rinehart mufflers with both sets of baffles will go onto the classifieds here. At least I’ll have a nice new Rush box to ship-em in.

I’ll post an update on how the new Rush’s look and sound compared to the Rineharts.

Let us know how the Rush compare for sound. I'm interested as I'm shopping for mufflers at this point. I've got a ton of miles on mine, and they're starting to turn a little gold right in the middle.

 

Looking forward to your update. I owned a 2003 Ultra with true duals, Screaming Eagles and a 95 kit. Always liked the sound but thought Rineharts would sound better.

 

Will do. One of the biggest selling point on the Rush's is there are 5 different baffle options and baffles are only $65 per pair. Jamie though the 1.5's might be too quiet. I've also heard many others on the forum that are very satisfied with the 1.75's.

To be honest I didn't really notice a big difference between the stock and the quiet baffles. Theres really not much to the Rinehart baffles. They are basically a 2 1/2 inch pipe with some spiral cuts. No wrapping or packing of any kind. This pic is of the stock baffle.

Interesting post, Clint. Keep us advised how you like the Rush compared to the Rineharts. I like my Rineharts with the wrapped quiet baffles, but you may be onto something.
