Default Plugging the back tire on........

my 08 Ultra.

I have a really small nail almost dead center in the back tire. New tires will be here Friday.

Tire still has a good 3000 miles on it.

Any thoughts on plugging?

Thanks in Advance

I plugged a tire because it only had 1,000 mile on it so I could not bring myself to replace it. If you do plug it I would say use Safety Seal plugs, I have been using them for 15 years and have never had one fail.

You will have people on both sides of the plug your tire debate. I have only had to plug one tire and I never had any issues.

I have one of these tire plug kits: http://www.stopngo.com/motorcycle.asp

I've plugged three back tires in the past ... never any issues. I wouldn't plug the front tire though. I promise others will object and your dealer won't touch it.

Default Your life's worth "How much?"

It shouldn't matter, front or back, a "plug" gets you out of trouble and back on the road so you can get a tire replacement.

I've plugged 2 rear tires to get me back home but
replaced at that point. One time was over 1000 miles
away. Had no problems. Ride Safe!!!!

I've had two back tires plugged by MC shops. They always have removed the tire and have special plugs with a flange that keep the plug fr coming out. Have the Harley shop or other MC shop that knows what they are doing do it.
