No helmet law here in Florida but I always ride with a half helmet except at Daytona bike week and Biketoberfest

 

I wear a helmet 60% of the time - usually based on weather more than anything else, right or wrong... The 2 states I do the most of my riding in don't have helmet laws - Texas and New Mexico. In Texas you don't have to wear a helmet if you are 21 and have proof of med insurance (10K) or you have a rider safety certificate. You can get a sticker that proves such or chance being pulled over and show proof stated above. Fellow TX riders, please add anything I missed or embelished.

When I lived in Iowa (no helmet law), I had to carry a helmet regardless 'cause I lived on the Iowa/Nebraska (strong helmet laws) border...

I believe I have 5 helmets: An awesome HJC w/ modular sun shield, Simpson 3/4, 2 Fulmer 1/2s and my favorite 1/2 Skid Lid. I've been down hard twice in 31 years, the last time was deer-related and I have a permanent scar from the brim of my Skid Lid hitting the bridge of my nose and a bum right shoulder.

 

All the time....I live close to South Carolina and ride there frequently...always with the lid. I do have a half that I bought and use it when the weather is good but I like me Shoei RF1000 full face too..

 

Georgia law requires a helmet (would wear one anyway). I wear a carbon fiber helmet from the website above. I highly recommend this 1/2 helmet. I have the polo. Use the 3/4 below 60 degrees or high chance of rain.

I generally wear a helmet most of the time - Occasionally on some longer rides in the middle of nothing, I might go without for comfort's sake for a while.

I've got a bunch of 'em... Because you can't return them.

By far my favorite is the Scorpion EXO 100.



That shield is amazing - Stays inside the helmet, pops out when the rain hits, goes right back up after (left thumb actuator). Also a great removable ear curtain that's fantastic in the cold & wet stuff.

 

After being on anti seizure meds for 20 yrs. of my life due to a head injury I wear one without fail. At 54yrs old the old adage "RIDE HARD DIE YOUNG" doesn't apply any more. I've got a Shoei 1/2 now but ordering a Seer. The kids got me a Scala-Rider Q2 for Christmas so looking forward to mounting it up on a new helmet.

 

I wear one in a stated that does not require you to. My helmet choice depends on the weather. I have a 3/4 and a 1/2. My next helmet will be full face.

 

I have a couple of the novelty carbon fiber helmets from this company, I love em. They come with multiple pads for sizing.

 

I wear a 1/2 helment in all seasons. Had too many caps blow off in years past.
