I've never had a problem with any hotel/motel either giving me a ground floor room facing the parking lot or just parking it under the overhang.

Last summer, in Regina, the hotel manager told me to park the bike between her truck and the lobby's window.

Holiday Inns, Super 8s or mom & pop places are decent enough if you have a good attitude about it.

WHAT?
She didn't give you pillows for the bikes, too?

I would have left!

You know the part you drive under when you check in. i don't know if this is a company policy, or what, but they all tell us to park there, and it will be out of the weather, and under the lights. Have they done this for anyone else, or is it just my wifes charming attitude that gets us this spot?
Always park in the lobby, give the desk clerk a few bills.
