Have a 1/2 helmet and looking for a good microphone/headset for com, CB. Have a Ultra and the set I was going to buy (not HD) has some power issues on 06 and later Ultra's (not enough jusice to power com)- IMC Microphone and Speaker Kit for Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide, Half Hlmt http://www.whitehorsepress.com/produ...oducts_id=5270 . HD's solution is velcro and use the mic for full or 3/4 helmet. Rather not go that route... Want to use the com, CB, and radio. Any suggestions appreciated...

If your shorty helmet has pockets in the "earmuffs" then you're one step ahead of the game. If not, or you're not going to be using the earmuffs, then it's going to be more difficult. I'm sure you tried J&M Audio in Tucson... if not look them up.

 

I use the HD ear pockets on my half helmet with no issues. Here is a link the Scara system that I use.

I also have one of the IMC unit and it works ok for the CB, apparently the problem is with the VOX on the intercom.

 

if u use the intercom use the same brand mic front and back less issues with the vox.

 

Thanks all for the info... I like the Scara wireless idea, but want the CB too... J&M seems to use the same idea as HD with a velcro type insert while whitehorse press with IMC has the best looking option with CB but then I'd loose the Com/vox. Right now I think I'm leaning toward the HD as my wife already has a HD mic set in her 3/4 helemet. Thanks again all!!
