Default Slip On Swap (and re-swap) question

For a whole lot of bad reasons (noise, neighbors and police) I may have to switch from the Rineharts back to stock for a while and then back again. Maybe more than a couple of times.

Does anyone have an opinion on how adaptable the ECM will be? No major mods to the engine, essentially Stage I. I'm hoping that the switch back and forth will not be an issue.

This is going to be a pain. Any opinions? Thanks!

That sucks out loud. Can't you just idle down the roads until you get away from the hood?

Have you done anything else to it besides the rineharts, is there a stage 1 ac. You can swap the Rinehart slipons back and forth with no problem as long as there is the stock ac and stock ecm. I like my solution better, I say F the neighbors and F the police.

If the O2 sensors are still hooked up you woun't have any problem with switching back and forth at all. The ECM will make any adjustments needed. If the O2s are bypassed then you might run a little rich with the stockers on but not enough to be a problem

When Jamie gets the 2007 Touring PC V online, it has map switching ability. That way you could have maos for both. Also I believe if you get a PCIII with the LCD you'll be able to switch maps that way too.

Unfortunately, loud pipes will soon be a thing of the past. Police in my town (Naperville, IL) are coming down hard on loud pipes.

old people vote and sheriffs listen to the voters it sucks but thats the way it is we had the sheriff at our chapter meating a few month back discussing the noise crackdown.basically it comes down to officers judgment unless there stockers.but there is no current crackdown on the old man with the leaf blower at 6am sunday or the 1978 mower with rotted out exhaust.

I think it's all a jealousy thing myself, for non-bike owners. There are a lot of LEO's on this forum, and I've seen a lot of mods on there bikes. Pretty sure non EPA. I can honestly say I have never once been approached by someone saying my bike was loud or offensive. In fact quite the opposite, young and old alike have said how nice the bike was and sounded. Then they break into a story of the old days and the bike they owned........

It becomes a frenzy for them, once they catch one offender they get the itch to catch as many as they can. It's especially bad in Denver. A buddy of mine has a friend who owns a bike rental company and said he's ran a DB meter on the new stock H-D's and even they were out of compliance.

Soon they will just sit outside the dealers and wait for you to drive off the lot.

Thanks to all. What I'm hearing is that it will probably adjust and then adjust back without any issues. Yes, SERT with a base map that works great and I just haven't fiddled with. My challenge is that I live in central VA and work part time up in D.C. area and I like to ride up there every so often. I'm up there enough to where it made sense to get an efficiency apartment (lot more cost effective than hotels). It's in a gucci neighborhood in Bethesda in the hyper-liberal socialist state of Maryland where I just know that cranking up at 0600 with the Rineharts mounted is going to draw fire big time. My only alternative is just to not ride up there, which I can do. Just thought I could have my cake and eat it too. I probably need to look around at quick fasteners (Dzus?) of some kind if this is going to work. Thanks again.
