It will definately fit because it's narrower (that a word?) than the stock tire!!

Check this out.

The stock tire is supposed to be 5.51" inches wide. I just measured one while it was mounted on the rim and it is 5.62. No biggie.

Below are two tires I picked up to check if they would fit an 07 SG in my quest for a little wider tire. Both of these tires are supposedly wider than the stock MU8516 tire.

1) Dunlop D402 150/80/16 supposed to be 6.15 wide. Measured off rim = 6.125. So cool, thats about right even though it's off the rim.
2) Dunlop Elite 3 160/80/16 supposed to be 6.10 wide. Measured off rim = 5.375!!! WTF?

I don't get it. The 160 is narrower than the 150 and both are 80 series tires?
The 160 is even narrower than the stock MU85B16 which we all consider it about a 140????

I'm like wow. Is the 160 supposed to grow when it's mounted or something? Maybe I need to add water...

I even took some pics so you guys can see what I've seeing.

Not sure what I'm going to do. I was really pulling for the Elite 3 since it "should" aid in better handling etc but if its even more narrow than the stock tire that I am already not happy with... Oh well, looks are not everything.

Great post. The pics tell the story. I have noticed that on car tires too....some brands are wider than others in section and tread width even when suppposedly the same size.

I would like to see that same bottom picture with a stock tire thrown it, just to see the difference.

My elite 3 mounted on the ground after 60 miles measures 6.089 and fits with no problems. Measured off the rim brand new it was 5.63. They stack these tires on top of each other when shipping from the factory so there is some smash effect going on is my only explanation. And please notice that is a D401 not 402 next to it in the pictures. The 401 load rating is about 220lbs lighter than the Elite III which is 992Lbs.
