You got that right, G - those of us who are addicted to coffee have a very expensive habit. The packets approach sounds like less trouble. But still...

Been using this http://www.camping-gear-outlet.com/c...gear-9641.html for the past 12 years (was $6.99 back then) over a camp fire.

You can get one of those single serve percolators. Also, you can get the press, but its already mentioned. I have a percolator I use for camping and such.

Here's a different twist that works great for me....cold-brewed coffee. No, this is not drinking your coffee cold, it's making a concentrated extract that you just add to hot water. Makes the best, smoothest coffee you ever had. You make up a batch of the extract ahead of time and can just carry that in a sealed container. Much less acid and great if you have acid reflux or heartburn issues.

I can see a trailer in your future. I started out just wanting a cup of coffee in the morning. I use to carry a Perking Pot and a bag of coffee and would put it on the morning campfire. It just took to long to perk. The trailer holds everything. LOL

Here's a tip - don't start with cold water, put the water in the night before w/o the coffee (put a napkin in the spout). Set it on the edge of the coals over night, next morning get the fire going - add in the coffee - 15 minutes tops.

These Italian coffee makers are simple to use and make delicious coffee. This, some ground beans, a burner and you're in business.
