Might want to do a Site Search here on ABS as this has been ask and answered many times and those threads have some good info.

Agree with that! I have ridden 50k plus miles with ABS and don't see any need for it on a bike. Unless you are upright and travelling in a straight line it is not going to rescue you!

Agree, do the search and read everything, just remember that 90% of the time you are upright and travelling in a straight line. Thus on the law of averages you will be safer if you have it than not, might never use it but if you did need it and didnt have it you would be sorry.

Why go with ABS? It very well could save you from sliding down. It has once for me that I'm absolutely sure of. We can all come up with any number of scenarios where riding over 1,000 pounds of motorcycle and rider, could get dicey do to unforeseen traction conditions. Plus it doesn't really cost much, what $800? Factor in the added resale and its probably only a couple hundred, if that. Its interesting that some will spend money on an extended warranty yet not invest in ABS.

Why not? Up front cost and it *may* be slightly more difficult to flush and bleed the brake system.

I love the idea of ABS also but I am getting conflicting info as to whether or not you can change the tire size and have the ABS work correctly. Does any no about this? I am pretty sure the ABS works off the bearing but not positive. Can you put a 19 inch or 21 inch wheel on a bike with ABS?

Scares me that I asked the head service guy at my local dealer ship and he wasn't sure said I would need to comeback after he looked into it. I thought that would be something he would no b/c so many people change the tire size on the SG's
