Default Load Equalizer needed for Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake Controller?

I just bought the Kuryakyn run-turn-brake controller, which comes with a load equalizer. The person at the shop that sold it to me said that I only need to use the included load equalizer if I'm running LED's. Is that correct? I installed the controller without the load equalizer, and it seems to be working fine. What would the benefit of using/not using it?

If you had LED's, they wouldn't draw enough power to flash correctly, so, you would add the load equalizer. If you have the stock bulbs, you don't need to install it. Keep it though, you may change to LED's in the future and need it.

Looks like you got the right answer, also if everything is operating correctly and the blinkers don't flash two quickly you are ok

For some reason the Kury lights seem to make the security light go on and stay on with bikes equipped with the factory security system. The load equalizer is also needed to stop this if it's happening on your ride.

I bought one with the equalizer built in, but I did need to add one once I went LED on all of my signals. Very very easy to install and one will do the trick for the entire four signals.

As has been stated on a few of these threads (and recently confirmed on my scoot) if you are just doing LED on the rear then a load equalizer is not necessary. I went to the HD LED taillight and red LED bulbs for my rear turn signals, and they work just like normal.

Now if i could get my brake lights to stop flashing on and off when i hit bumps, i'd be all set (stupid front brake lever!!!)
