Default Installing Leather Saddlebag lid covers-HELP

I've been trying to install a set of HD leather saddlebag lid covers on my 09 Ultra. These things fit like a glove, but I'm having problems getting the lid covers to fit completing on the lid. They are very tight. Does anyone have any secrets to get these things on properly? Thanks in advance.

I laid mine in the sun to warm up and get a little stretch. I saw on here some guys used a clothes dryer on low for a few minutes. Hope this helps.

Take your time and start in one corner. Slowly work around the lid pulling the cover tight. Mine installed quite easily and look great.

You can also use a hair dryer to make it pliable.

my velcro pads that glue onto the lid kept coming loose, and pulling out where you could see the white sticking out from under the lid. I ripped it all out and threw them in the shop somewhere. otherwise I kinda liked them. yeah and that black glue kept getting on everything. how do you guys get them to stay put? what kinda glue did yo use

I've tried the dryer and hair dryer, but no success yet. These things are tight. I'm not giving up yet. Thanks for everyone's input. At least I know they do go on.

Try putting the covers on to where they are just snug, let them sit for a day or two then warm them up and tighten. Repeat until you are happy with the fit.

I use Lidcovers from Ridetek, they were easier to put on and the velcro stays put. Anyhow, you need to make sure that once the velcro is installed (proper temp, clean surface) that you allow it to sit like 24 hours without the covers installed and pulling on the velcro. Also, as other have stated, heat the covers.

You will have to give them Time, the Leather has to stretch over Time and readjust as needed, Have Patience! It is like getting New Leather Chaps or Jacket.
