Unhappy turn signal woes

For about the last month or so so my 07 FLHTC has been throwing codes
B1123 (HFSM) Left Turn Output Short to Ground
B1124 (HFSM) Right Turn Output Short to Ground
Bike has a biketronics led turn signal kit,I have traced and cleaned all
grounds and bulb sockets ,also found a couple cut wires at the horn bracket.
Seems to me dealer did not route the cruise cable correctly and caused wires
to rub on the horn bracket, corrected that issue.
Short of running new ground wires or checking wires at the handle bars
I am at my wits end.
Looking for any advice from whom may have experienced similar or what
avenue to pursue now.
TIA Hinzy

If it's throwing a 'Short to ground" code, the issue is with the hot, or output wire that is likely shorting to a ground somewhere. If The switch housings have been apart or replaced, I've seen lots of pinched & grounded wires there.

Good luck,
Steve

I had a similiar problem don`t remember the codes but I had the kuryakan led tailight and turn signals on the rear it has a load equalizer that keeps the turn signals flashing at the correct rate mine burned up,had to replace it im told from several folks those load equalizers are only good for a limited time they get hot and burn up its real important to have them attached to somewhere that makes a good heatsink. After the second time mine burned up went back to stock,I would look in that direction you can run without the load your signals will flash eratically but it wont throw those same codes, hope that helps..

Thanks Gents,
never have had the handlebar switches apart.
after seeing what my dealer did concerning the horn wires
I'm just gonna pull the tank and do some more searching,
gotta get warmer here though
I would probably guess there is another short somewhere
thanks again

Since both sides seem to be affected, my first guess would be that the power wires to both TS switches are grounded somewhere. Each switch has a power wire in and a switched power wire out. The power in to both sides comes from a common source and that may be the issue. Pop the switches apart and use a test light to see if you have juice to the switches. If not, trace it back to the power source. The connectors are inside the fairing, not under the tank. If you don't have a service manual, see if your dealer will let you make a copy of the wiring schematic. Also, if your wiring has been run thru the bars, it could be scraping where it passes thru the holes in the bars.

Good luck,
Steve
