No the rail and the bumper comes off. No holes in the fender. I have taken mine off of my last 2 bikes. You have to pull the front wheel off to get the front bumper off.

I'm a picture guy, love to look a bikes, Harleys inparticular.
Have just done cosmetic stuff and comfort accessories.
Riders back rest, I-pod holder, Otterbox waterproof i-pod box, Clearview recurve smoked 12" windshield, Coffee cup holder, TomTomRider GPS, 3/4" footboard extensions, J & W speakers all four, windshield pockets, headlamp, turnsignal and fog light visors and highway pegs. I want/need, ya need to get the 2" pull back bars, a luggage rack and center stand. That's it until I see the next posters bike, I'm sure I'll "need" more then. I'm still looking for that "perfect" biscotti/donut tray. PM me if you have a source.

Here's our baby, with and without the trailer.
Way too many changes and extras to list. PM me if you want more info or pics.
Cheers!

Rhonda, here are some suggestions for you as a passenger. Note the items in the picture below.

The pegs above the passenger floorboards are adjustable and allow you to move the positions of your feet and legs. They were about $190.

The passenger grab rails and handrail covers. Gives you something to hold on to.

Luggage rack on top of tour pak. Place to put more of your stuff.

Leather bag mounted next to passenger footboard on saddlebag. My wife puts her loose stuff in there.

Ride and Leather column buckling gel seat inserts with memory foam. Will help you ride longer without getting as sore.

Touring suspension air pump. So you can adjust the air shocks to your weight and the ride you like.

RJS Original V-Twin heat deflectors. Keeps your legs from getting too warm from the engine.

I've added a bunch of other things for cosmetic reasons, but the above are the things as a passenger you may want to improve your comfort. If you want cosmetic things, I'll be glad to share some of the things I've done to make the bike look better.

My Ultra with the tour pack removed. I have a back rest ready to go on whenever my wife rides with me.

I pulled my front bumper too. Looks much cleaner without it. I haven't messed around with the rear one, I'll probably leave that one alone.
