how can I get a little more sound and power

RE: how can I get a little more sound and power
Seattle run to Laughlin (and back) last year.. 2800 miles in 6 days and I never experienced a ringing in my ears. This was without ear plugs as they were just not comfortable.
Some people might just be more sensitive to the noise (and wind) than others.
It is all a matter of what is right for you.. all we can do is other our opinions (which are usually worth what you are paying for em)
Good luck with the decision...

I have your same bike. I have the Stage I and Python slip ons. IMO this set up sounds great. You definitely get that "HD sound." At first I thought they were a little loud (lasted one day), but I really do love the sound now! I don't think you would be disappointed!

RB,
The reason why you wear earplugs is not just to block the noise of your loud pipes. Consider all the noises, including your bike, the freeway traffic, the tractor trailers on the freeway, wind noise, and of course, other straight-pipe custom jobs. Would you risk losing your hearing permanently or spend $.75? Along with these noises, you also have the fatigue factor, that would make you tired sooner--without using ear plugs! That $.75 could be your best investment to protect your hearing and let you ride longer!
There have been plenty of studies on the affects of noise to human hearing, that we should stop and heed! Please remember that your hearing, once loss, is not recoverable! Plus, I hear my HD radio better with the earplugs than without. Of course, it's still a personal choice.

I just did a road trip of 1650 miles on my Road King with stock pipes and I'll tell you that your ears are going to be ringing even with stock pipes if you plan to do serious touring. I can't imagine what louder pipes would do, but after 300 miles yesterday, my ears are still ringing. Some people say to get loud pipes and wear ear plugs. So why pay $500 to $1700 for louder mufflers/pipes so you have to put in 75 cent earplugs?

+1. Couldn't imagine riding w/out earplugs. It blocks out all the annoying sounds but you can still hear your exhaust, music,...etc. Makes the ride 100% more enjoyable IMO. I get a pack of 100 sets of high quality foam ones on ebay for $12 or so which last me a couple years.
