Yeah, saw the price but didn't choke (my wife did...but...). Retired Senior Chief and really like to have my anchor on the fuel lid. The fuel lid is just too plain for me and I don't care for the few lids that are offered. The question is, what is being proud of your service worth?...

By the way, love your bike color!! I have a '07 Ultra in Suede Blue Pearl and Vivid Black. Very unique colors.

Yep, Proud of my service, I got 21yrs in so far. Serving in the US Army. I call the Blue "Infantry Blue". Back when I made SFC(E-7) I was in a Joint Unit and the Master Chief made everyone who was selected go through initiation. Seems the Navy really does it right when moving into the senior NCO ranks. And damn was it fun.. He gave everyone an Anchor that was subject to inspection at all times and I remember the charge book for my tasks. But now I am truly called Chief... as in Chief Warrant Officer... LOL....

And thank you for your service...

i've got to echo the great work that tim does. it is so much better than some of the other cheesy covers. sure, it might cost a little more, but the difference is night and day, kinda like crayons vs real brushes. and yes, that is gold plating.... sorry about the picture size....

I call my bike "ELVIS" due to the "Blue Suede...". I was initiated to Chief back in 1986. Had a lot of fun going through the process. Glad to hear you went through it...I think the Navy is the only service that treats E-7 through E-9 "special". I retired 20-years in March 1998. Whole career in the Submarine Service.

AND Thank You for YOUR service...

I just got my USMC deluxe emblem derby cover and AC cover from Tim at Custom Engraving. Put them on my 2007 RK and replaced the cheap HD emblems. Looks perfect! I hope to show pictures soon. He does do top notch work and will work with you on anything, including price! As far as cost, I think he has a superior product compared to other less expensive engravers work I've seen. I love guy's who spend all their hard earned money on an HD, just to bitch about a few dollars on something that makes such a huge statement. I figured if I went ahead and put that kind of money in my bike and 8 years of my life in the Corps, what's a few hundred dollars going to matter if I get what I want? His work is ART, plan and simple!

Ronjo...

Yes it looks like the engraving is top notch but for a hundred and change more I can get a complete chrome front end pkg for that price. I too am proud of my service, 20 year veteran Retired US Army. But $255 for a 8" piece of chrome when Harley sells comparable pieces for $50 -$100 makes me want to think about it a bit.
