I installed it on my 2001 SERG on Christmas day along with the HD lighted mirrors, which are great, (I bought these through Chicago HD at 20% off). As my bike has the J&M 2003 CB intercom unit on the left side of the handlebar I had to mount the zumo ball mount with the ball on the bottom of the handlebar. This put the zumo lower and pretty close to me which worked good. I also used a disc player adapter to hook the Zumo to the stereo which is hooked to my J&M headset. This also worked real well.
One thing about the Zumo that still bothers me is that there were 7 preloaded songs on it and one of the mounts had some scratches on it. Before I call Amazon I was wondering if the songs come loaded for a reason or did I get refurbished unit. It was advertise from Amazon as new? I am looking for an SD card and found a 2G one for $26 on Amazon which seems to be the best price for that size. The SD card is for more music storage
I've had my Zumo for a couple of years already, but it seems to me there were a couple of songs already on it - nothing I'd listen to, but just a variety of songs. I'd wonder about the scratches though - I'd wonder if someone returned it to Amazon and they just put it back into inventory.

My wife got the 450 for Xmas for $465 delevered. Wasn't really interested in the bluetooth or XM. ( I got a 4 gig SD card loaded up mp3's like 60 cd's and I've still got agig left, LOL!)

I went Radio Shack and got a a fused cigarette plug power adapter ($6.59) and swaped out the fuse for the Garmin 2 amp fuse and put it on the 450 cradle power cord. (I'll use the lighter outlet in the fairing to power it on the bIke.)

I also got an audio patch cord ($6.49) for the bike radio and my car radio..both have aux. outlets. My wifes car does not, so I bought a baterry powered mini I-pod speaker ($10.00) and a headphone spliter ($5.49) to extend the speaker enough to plug into the cradle. I tried it and it's plenty loud to hear the audio directions in her car.

Then I got the garmin suction mount for the car (at Satples for $14.99..... I used a 2-part epoxy stick for the auto parts store and moulded the ball on the suction mount to the same size as the Ram mount that came with the 450..it's larger than the Garmin mount.)

The cost was $47.00 extra for the accessories, for a total of $412.00 to make the Zumo 450 usable on the bike (and in a car with or w/o an an aux. port.) About $200 cheaper than the Zumo 550, so I'm happy camper. Here are some pics of the mods:

so the ball/socket for the Zumo is larger than the ball/socket for say a Garmin Nuvi 350 or 750?

Yes, the Zumo 450 actually comes with a motorcycle mount made by RAM mounts. But no auto mount.)

(The Zumo 550 comes with the RAM mount AND an auto cradle and mount.)

I bought a 4 gig card on sale at Aldi's for $12. I thought I did great until I found out the local Wal-Mart has them everyday for $10.

I can remember paying $60 for my first 1 gig sd card a few years back.

just picked up a Zumo 550 from HSN, on the web, for $599 minus another $15 for being a new customer. it was the cheapest price that i could find on the web.
