Default Street Glide or EGC ?

I'm sure it's been covered before but I did a quick search and didn't see anything. I recently sold my Road Glide and want to make a change over the the Street Glide or Electra Glide Classic. I like the less is more look of the Street Glide but seems you get more bang for the buck with the EGC. After searching just a short bit, I found an 06 EGC with 4000 miles in mint condition with an asking price of $13500. I'd kind of like an 07 with the new engine and six speed but since I don't want to go the loan route and pay cash, my funds are limited.

So what say those who are "in the know"

Thanks!

Bang for the buck, the Classic is a better deal. Same overall MC. Same price? Pretty close? 2 or 3 hundred bucks? The tourpack alone is HUNDREDS to buy seperate.

Granted the StreetGlide is one of the slickest looking (out of the box)Harleys ever made. But they are EVERYWHERE.

Me, myself, I'd go Classic. But knowing me, it would wind up looking more like a Streetglide. But just having that tourpack when needed . . . Can't beat that. I would prefer the stock height susp. I've ridden two Streetglides and they don't ride a BIT better than my Heritage (freeway type riding). I'm sure the SG would run the mountain roads better.

Electra Glide Classic...end of story! I too was swinging between EGC and Streetglide. I made the right decision for me!

I'm in the boat, I've decided at becuse I know I would always look back if I didn't. I'm sure I will eventually get ultra, but I will get the at first and have no regrets.

IMHO - The EGC, with the addition of the Tour Pac lights (Ultra Classic style) for visibility, about $175. & 2 hours work. You can always take the tour pac off when not on a trip.
