Default K&N Filter don't fit..Whats up????

Last month I installed Rinehart TD's and SE Stage 1 Air Cleaner (part # 29260-08) Today I purchased a K&N Filter HD-0800 and the holes don't line up. Im guessing this is not the correct filter?? Does anyone know what the correct filter would be for the SE Stage 1 AC?? Thanks in advance.

You nailed it. He bought the wrong one, pre 08's used 0800, 08 and later uses 0818

The 08 at the end of your part # means the year the part came out or modified HD may have made some changes to the 08 S/E filters I thought I heard they change the throttle body size in 08 this could be the reason it doesnt fit..Also go to KN web site they will tell u what filter will fit your bike

Harley increased the size on the throttle bodies for 2008, so I believe that you can order a K&N HD-0818 to fit it now.

The K&N filter element replacement for the 2008 SE A/C Kit is HD-0818.

The Filter is the same shape and size but the holes don't line up. The K&N website states

  • 5-1/2" Diameter Metal Top Plate has centered 5/16" NC Weld Nut to attach cover
  • Top Plate is Three-hole-drilled to fit standard mounting pattern for Twin-Cam air cleaners
  • 6-1/4" Diameter Molded Rubber Base
