Default Lowers - Hogg Chopps vs HDs

I'm considering adding a set of lowers to my RKC. Any information (pro or con) that would help me make a decision between Hogg Chopps and HDs versions will be appreciated. Hot Bike Baggers February issue has an article on how to install the HC version but nothing about how they performed.

Standard HD's with the Ultra work well... Think I'll get the quick release kit where they easy clamp on and off... Saw some leather ones with velcro looked pretty good and didn't interfer with fog lights... let us know what you decide on... Good Luck!

Neither of the "Bagger" magazines (or any others, for that matter) offer anything other than pictures and a second set of instructions on any subject. They're all afraid of HD and the aftermartket for some reason. I've been thinking of the same addition for my '06 Streeter and only seem to get the usual "HD lowers are best" comments (and they could be). If you find any useful info please post it. I'll do the same.

Hoggchops are pretty darn nice, and are a good price... if you order them with boxes, however.... the price climbs up into the OEM range... or at least near enough, if you order from Zanotti....

Add the cost of of oem gloveboxes and matching paint and the factory lowers way out ahead in price again! The hogg chops have grown on me and the price is right.

For those that are asking about my air cleaner cover, I bought it on-line, a site called the V-Twin Store. However I just tried bringing up their site and it is no longer there. I just moved from OH to FL and I'm in a temporary place and living out of boxes. I will continue looking for the invoice I received from them and provide you the information.
