Yeah, I heard the foil trick works great. I use Maas Metal Polish.

Old British trick from Triumph days. Grasp US penny between thumb and pointer, and rub the junk off. The copper is softer than the chrome and won't scratch your pipes. Very easy. Test on take off chrome first if you doubt it works... Good Luck.

MethylEthylKetone~I don't have much occasion to use that stuff at home, and we can't even get it at work anymore. Environmental rules and all. Everything is "green" now. HA. But yeah, that stuff works great on about anything that you need dissolved. Ranks right up there with Freon for cleaning electrical contacts and circuits. Ultra clean, ultra banned!

+1 on easy-off... just make sure to protect everything BUT the messed up part off the pipes... paint + easy off, = 1 pissed off biker

next step is to throw out that set of raingear... sorry... look up tourmaster suits... get the higher priced ones with the non-melting pants legs

you'd think... non-melting pants legs would be standard on rain suits..... but you'd be wrong

Default melted raingear

Razors work for us on the big melted blobs. Just be careful not to scratch the chrome by scraping too hard. I have done it many times without any problems. The razor must be at a low angle to the chrome when scraping and must be clean (no rust). Then Chrome polish.
