Camping Advice for Wife (HELP)
#13
Gave a look at www.koa.com. Check out their Kamping Kabins. You will still need your sleeping bags. However, it is secure if storms. They have heaters if too cold. You can still have a campfire. You have to call ahead as the Kabins are popular. My wife won't tent anymore but she enjoys the KOA's and the Kabins.

Very good comments and being perfectly honest, it's everything I expected. I was really just hoping your words of experience would change her mind and give her words of encouragement. I think through the years, hearing my stories ... has permenantly set her against staying outdoors.
Thank you for the replies ... would anybody like to go camping?

my wife and i have done a bunch of camping, from canoe trips in the boundry waters to pop up camping.
comfort and ease is important.
start slow
so i picnic trip
drive out, picnic, drive back
do a one nighter
do a one nighter and a picnic
and remember that some people just do not like camping period.

There's nothing like riding and seeing the beautiful countryside and knowing you can pull up and camp whenever you're tired, cook by the fire, talk about your day, snuggle up beside each other in the tent in sleeping bags knowing that the next day holds yet another wonderful adventure. A woman CAN keep her curling iron and makeup in the saddle bags or extra touring bag, so you don't HAVE to look terrible. (I've done it) Also room for a couple changes of clothes and you can wash and dry the clothes when needed at any campground you stay at. There are hot showers at most campgrounds. The key is getting up early to beat the crowd during the summer. You will have priceless memories you will never forget and it will bring you closer as a couple.
Is that better? All true.
