Default Tour Pak strap hinges-anything better looking?

I am sending a set of hardbags and a King Tour pak out to be painted to match my bike and was wondering if there's something out to cover the ugly strap hinges on the tour pak or as a second option to replace them with billet hinges. I've seen them before on bikes here on the forum but don't know where to get them? Thanks.

There is a guy over at the CVO Harley forum (www.cvoharley.com) that makes billet hinges and sells them through eBay and group buys on that forum. I keep missing the group buy (one just closed). They are really good looking and run about $80 if I recall correctly.

Thats just what I was looking for-thank you. I've emailed the guy asking whats involved in replacing the strap hinge with this hinge and do I need HD service for any riveting-I've heard you need a special tool and rivets.

I just received them; they're beautiful. The seller is Richard Pomeroy; the cost is $93.50 per pair shipped USPS Priority Mail; contact him and pay via paypal to dickelk@aol.com.

They are a direct replacement for the strap hinges. You grind/drill out the rivets, re-use the backing plates on the interior lid/bottom, and very slightly enlarge the holes. You loosely attach the screws/hinges to get the lid aligned properly with the latches for a good fit, then tighten the screws.

He also sells a replacement hinge for the cop saddlebags; looks almost identical to the TP hinge, for $173.50 for a set of four hinges. Excellent guy to buy from--excellent communication and fast USPS Priority Mail shipping.

The only rivets you would need HD for are the two each in the lid latch pieces.

My painter received the hinges from Dick today and emailed me to tell me how nice they were. My bags and tour pak are being painted now. My big winter project. Should be a few more weeks and then back to me. I will post pictures when I get them all back. Thanks for the contact info on these hinges.

What a difference between these and the stock strap hinges.
