Default Adding a cigarette lighter to '05 RKC

Has anybody added a cigarette lighter to their RKC? I need the outlet to plug in air pukp for inflatable mattrress while camping this spring.

If you have pics of where you placed it and wiring digram that would be most helpful.

Thanks for your help. Ain't this an awesome site.

Piece of cake. Buy the HD splitter and the lighter. You probably can hide it in your bag or find a place on the frame to attach it. I decided to buy a quick release fairing so my problem was solved.

Added one to my RK. Left side of handlebars, wired back down under tank. Can also put battery tender pigtail on 12v socket and plug into tender lead when needed, leave in bag otherwise.

I also use the electric gear outlet. If you don't have electric gear, use a battery tender harness. Either are easy to make or readily available from you dealer. You can buy a lighter cord extension at Walmart for 5 bucks....It's got a socket on one end and a plug on the other. Cut the plug off and put on one that mates to the harness on the bike.

go here www.powerletproducts.com. I bought one of their socket sets. It mounts right above your horn, on the same bolt. It is high quality chrome, weatherproof, and you can buy adaptors for various need. I had a cigarette lighter/cell phone charger for my long trips and, while in the garage, bought the battery tender adaptor and kept the bike on a battery tender. I had it on my 06 RKC and it was my favorite mod..looked good on the bike and was less expensive then going the Harley way. EZ install. good luck.
