Default Hot in Florida today

80* here in Florida today so me and the g/f took a 200mi ride (round trip) to Anna Maria Island. She to soak up the sun, me to read a book under the shade. Great day. only thing wrong with it was how hot my bike ran..installed an oil temperature gauge a while back b/c I wanted to get an exact reading. I am running stock pipes w/xIEDs installed. I have Spectro Gold in the crank case, Spectro gear oil in tranny and HD Formula + in the primary. ON the highway cruising at 65 -70, the temp got up to 250*, soon as I hit a few lights in Bradenton, she was pushing 300* and the heat management kicked in. I was hoping the xIEDs would have reduced the temp more. Oh well, price you pay for owning a big ol' air cooled engine. Time for an oil cooler.

Dang thats hot... I rode today in Cape Coral, to Bonita Springs, thru Ft Myers Beach, back into the cape. Pretty much stayed 190 all day. Maybe you are running rich, which would make it run hotter from what I have heard.

My oil temp gauge never gets above 230 even in the parades. I do have an oil cooler, which is only good if you are moving. Slow parade riding is the only time I have seen it at 230... but never 250.

Dumb question, but Im sure you checked your oil and are not low... ?

Hot here by Lake Okeechobee also. Did not get to ride today, but will tomorrow. Araba Shriner, Going south through Big Cypress Indian Res. then over to the Red Robin by Bass Pro Shops in South Fort Myers. Then to the house to watch the Dolphins.

I ride an evo and have no engine heat issues.

Ahh, Anna Maria, Beach house for lunch? Gotta love the house salads. My and my wifes favorite places on earth! One night try to reserve a room at the Harrington house. VERY EXPENSIVE but Momma is worth it. We had a heart shaped Jaccuzzi room right on the beach. I got real lucky for 2 months after that one, she thought I was romantic, LOL

ms3300, My oil cooler was installed by the dealer when the Stage II was done. I assume it is an HD product.

Wideglide, that Bass Pro Shop is pretty kewl. They got one of everything and that place is huge. Have fun... btw, what time is the Dolphins game on?

Kid, Have never been to that Anna Maria place... might have to check it out. Thanks for the headsup.

Group of us ride to Anna Maria quite often usually to Rotton Ralphs to eat. Is the causway from Bradenton back open? Blonde usually wants to stop and talk to the parrots. lol
