Default Painted inner fairing

Have you given any consideration to a two toned inner fairing. I have seen a couple lately and they look really good. I saw a Pewter bike at one of the local dealers. The inner fairing was painted black on the inner fairing closest to the outside and then pewter on the inside where the natural line of the inner fairing is around the gages and speakers. It really looked good. Cost I'm sure was more because of masking but it looked good. I seriously doubt you could mess anything up on your ride. It's beautiful........

I know a guy that did a candy red on a black bike and it look pretty good, so I know whut your sayin about a vivid black on pewter denim. I think itd be nice. Im not sure if Ill ever paint my inner fairing since, I really hate my bike down for any kind of period. I did the 13" cyclesmiths and did the pm renthal grips. I also got black clutch lever and brake lever, I made it different by doin the switch caps chrome, since I decided not to black out my motor, makes it different.

Yeah, you're right. I already have a vivid black inner fairing on it's way.

Well thanks for the compliment. Upgrades, or some would say screwing with it never really ends I think I'd have to see the combo you're talking about, but don't think I'm wanting to put that much into it. It does sound cool though. If it's still there when you go by snap a pic please.

I know what you mean about down time. Sometimes you want something bad enough you just have to bite the bullet. I think the fairing would only be a few hours though. How do you like your cyclesmiths? I'm thinking about doing some kind of mini ape..but was thinking of 12" like wide glide bars. Also just heard that PM just came out with TBW Renthal grips so looking at those too I swear I'm not trying to copy your bike Bobberino!
I'm almost back to thinking about the matching pewter inner fairing. With the black handlebars and already got the black clutch and brake levers, and adding the gloss black external mirrors, it would contrast well. Otherwise could be too much black.

with the denim paint on your bike I'm not sure why you would want a gloss inner fairing. I think it would stand out too much personally. Your seat doesn't appear to be too glossy of black so I would think the stock flat black would match better. I think the money would be spent better on something else down the road. Just my .02 cents tho. BTW, your bike looks great as she sits!

Thanks Steven. I'm not sure either, but now I'm thinking more about the denim inner to match with black external mirrors, bars to pull the black in. The vivid black might be a bit much for the denim paint over that broad of a canvas. I do have gloss black lowers, pegs, etc on the bike however.

I know it's alot of money but have you checked out the SOFT DASH by Hell's foundry. I like the way they look but just can't get past the cost. They do offer a shade of grey though. It might be worth a look any way.

GliderXXX,

Default Vivid black lowers on pewter FLHX

It was pretty easy to get a feel for what the gloss black inner fairing would look like on my pewter bike. I've got gloss black lowers, engine guards, levers, etc., basically throughout the bike, and was thinking the black painted fairing might look better than the pewter matched one. I'd add black 12" wide glide bars and some kind of cool black mirrors at the same time. Opinions are appreciated!
Looking for opinions on putting vivid black vented lowers on my stock pewter flhx? I was going to color match them but I could save some money if I can live with the black.
