Funny you should bring that up. I was just about to start mine and have not given it a thought. I am sick and tired of not hearing the motor kick on due to snow. I gotta hear it and it is on the stand.

I've started mine a couple of times on the stand and there hasn't been an issue. To tell you the truth, I didn't give it a second thought before firing her up.

I have started mine many times and let it idle while on the stand with absolutely no problems. I only use the center stand on level ground or parking on a slight incline. If I am parking in an area that the front might be lower than the back then I back in and park to make sure the front is higher than the back otherwise I just use the jiffy stand.

In my sig picture on my driveway, I have to put the bike in gear to park it there since it tends to slide backwards if I park it on that much of an incline in neutral.

My wife can even get on the bike when it is on the center stand and it is extremely solid, though I always make sure I am sitting on the bike when she gets on just to be sure.

Well the bike is still standing---no tippie over while idling on the center stand. I almost forgot how good that bike sounds. Hurry up spring.

Like others, I start mine while on the center stand and allow it to warm up while I gear up. I always start it while in neutral just to prevent that first start lunge, but I doubt even that would be enough to kick it off the stand. It's very stable.
