There are other dealerships around here that pay by the job from what I've been told, so I would be more suspicious of them not doing all that they are supposed to do.

I hope people dont take my first post the wrong way. I mean some dealers hack stuff and others are halfway dicent. I also agree with you. Many dealers around here have an incentive program, (ie: say you have a 1k for 3.3 hours and bill 2.3 hours you get an incentive in your check) most promote stuff like that. Because there are so many dealers like that in our area, we dont do that. It shows also, like you said. If a customer has a question or concern we have no problem bringing them out back and addressing it right there! After a dealer has left a bad taste in ones mouth its makes it hard for an honest dealer or mechanic/shop to proove themselves to that customer.

My point about the service records is that, The motor company is incredibly picky on what they pay for, say you have a serious vibration and your crank runout is not in spec. Before they pay us for the tear down they want all service records we have of that bike etc. What I myself dont understand, being a consumer before being employed by a dealer is, I bought my bike under the assumption it was a 2 year 100% wheel to wheel warrenty, STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT who cares about the service records and who did the work!?. Im all for doing work myself, I did all work to both my bikes myself, all custom work with the exception of the paint. Its not what you buy its what you build. I take pride in doing things myself.

What book are you looking at? 5000 mile does not require touching the primary. Primary is every 10k, trans 20k, crank 5k, do more and you're wasting your money.
