I just bought one of the skull design covers for the air cleaner this morning. I will get the derby cover later, then that is it......

I think they are clean look and simplistic in design.
Then came the grips, floorboards, pegs, fender skirt. Just bought the round horn cover and put the skull medallion on it. Help! I am out of control!!

Well.....I guess I'd still like to know what the meaning of the Willie G. Skull is? Or is there none? Maybe some lurkers from the MOCO could get us an answer?

I would ask:"where's the part about the Willie G Skull history" but that may void my HD Forum warranty

I was surprised a few years ago to see Harley skulls apear in dealer showrooms. I was led to believe that because several well-known motorcycle clubs used skulls in their patches, the MOCO intentionally stayed away from that design. I also heard that there were meetings with several well-known motorcycle clubs prior to rolling out the HOG patch and its related ettiquette. Evidently the MOCO is no longer concerned with a rider getting stomped by a patch holder because he sported a Harley skull.

My understanding is that Willie was looking into the idea of a new Logo. He doesn't like skulls but realized it isn't about what he likes, but about what the customers like. He designed the skull and it was a success. I tried to find the official story again, but couldn't find it.
