Default Can't Ride Now, Salt or No Salt

I fell on my icy driveway yesterday afternoon (Christmas Eve) and blew out my right knee. Tore my patella tendon, and will likely have surgery tomorrow. Will have a cast for 6 to 8 weeks then several weeks of rehab. Should just about get me to Spring! Well, at least I've done this at the right time of the year, but I was sure hoping to install the pullback bars this Winter. Heck, right now I can't even install the Wheeldock centerstand I bought myself for Christmas. Oh well, there's lots of folks out there with much worse problems than mine, so I'll just be spending more time on the forum and less time working on the bike for a few months.

I feel your pain.

I fractured my left foot a week ago and will have a cast on for 6 to 8 weeks also. Might as well rest up and let it heal correctly.

Sorry to hear about your fall. Get well and strengthen your knee, so you'll be ready for riding season.

Yeah, Winter can be tuff for sure. I think what bothers me more is not being able to work on the bike. It's sort of like Winter is our time together to get close, and the rest of the year is to enjoy the outdoors together. Dang, my bike must be female!!!

Ramnj, you injury sounds painful. Mine actually doesn't hurt much -- I just can't control the bottom half of my leg. Hope you heal well and get back to riding in the Spring.

Wow sorry to hear of your accident but as you say this is the "best" time of year for it to have happened. If you had to choose it would be winter so no time lost in prime riding months! Heal fast and stay in touch here on the forums...

Nice looking new ride, Arizona. Sorry to hear about your 05 EGC. Hope you weren't hurt in the hit and run.

Well, guess better now than two or three months from now. Good luck with the knife and rehab. You'll be ready soon we hope.
