I'm getting old and COLD. Does anybody know if they make heated gloves that can be used with the Aux plug and switch. I'm not using it anyway and it would beat having to run a wire to the cig plug.
Gloves alone wouldn't be a problem, but if you're going to have to remove the seat to hook into the Aux plug, why not go ahead and go directly to the battery? Gerbing, and I'm sure, the other manufacturers supply a harness with each item of clothing and gloves to do that.
the harley heated gear came with battery lead and on off switch. i ran wire up through the backrest slot in the seat on my road glide, in warmer weather just tuck it in out of the way
Good advice up above... I'm no electrician, but I don't recommend going to the lighter socket - those wires look pretty thin to me. Same goes for the AUX circuit. The Gerbing and HD gloves come with the harness to connect directly to the battery, and it's a ten minute job with one wrench. Be sure to properly disable the security system or you will wake up the neighbors when you disconnect the battery cables (don't ask me how I know...).
