Well...being the forward thinking SOB that I am...

I'll have the Darkhorse work shipped & back to me by the time you get here!

Go ahead...put in for those days off and let me know when it'll be.

Superb Post PhilM. Thanks. Nice to see Ed's face again. Hope to get home the end of Jan myself.
Some serious numbers there.

Great job at the Dyno Difference in Richardson.

I'd travel several hundred miles to get a tune from him!

That's what I did Glider. 600 mile round trip.

Congratulations on the the build. You found all the right folks.

The next week or so should be some decent riding weather.
Have fun with it........

Driveability / rideability....
I will say that once these motors are (properly) tuned,
they are smoother and more nimble/agile that a stock bike ~
NO BS!

It's been ugly here as well Phil.
80F in the afternoon then low 40s the next morning.
Supposed to let up for a typical South Texas tShirt ChristMas.

Good job on the build.
Great pictures.

Driveability / rideability....

I couldn't agree more.

I had an HQ 95 motor in my 06 Super Glide
and now the HQ/DarkHorse 120.
Both with 11:1 and the 600 cams.

They are so smooth from from zero to the limiter, and extremely responsive.
Go slow, go fast, whatever you tell it.

I think it's all in Doug's knowledge of cams.

Surprisingly enough I did ride about 50 miles today...it was real crap weather but I had to get it out of the garage Smooth is the definitive word. Very responsive is another, and your "go slow, go fast, whatever you tell it" comment is right on. The bike is quiet, starts easy, purrs like a kitten, and behaves like a well mannered scooter, unless you want it to do something else!

Merry ChristMas to you as well Phil.
And a Prosperous New Year to come.

"pretty quiet for a while" ??

You wouldn't be saying that
if you lived next door to 120 cubic inches of BoarZilla.

I know the feeling Glider.

Looking at your Dyno Sheet, if you like to ride hard,
with that 135 lbs torque at about 2200 rpm,
you gotta love that thing hitting the back roads.

My Dyna has about the same at 2200,
then kicks up to 150 lbs at about 2800.

I've learned to not wheelie cause I don't like uniCycles,
but I tell you under certain conditions, hitting 2nd hard,
I could swear it jumps both wheels off the ground.

Supposedly the weather is gonna get back to normal starting tomorrow.
Predicted in the 70s down here for the foreseeable future.

Merrrrrry ChristMasssssss........

I'll for sure keep you apprised of the reliability, but the mileage might be a a little harder to do based on the way this bike wants to flat out run. I'm at 85 miles at 1/2 tank. I typically would be at around 95-100 on the old 103 Stage II, but I've been twisting it just a bit harder on this first tank. I was filling up between 185-200 miles on the 103. I expect it will be closer to 175-180 on this build but we'll see.
Merry Christmas!
