I'm looking for a SG and plan on installing the 3M Film on my bags. I've seen this on Corvettes and it looks great. It protects like a bra without covering your paint.
I did the clear bra on almost everything on my bike fairing, bags, side covers, fenders and even the det tour pak, works great and you cant even tell its there!
I have the saddle bag lid bra set and even put the tour PAC bra on under the rack. I usually pack pretty heavy on my trips with extra bags strapped to the seat and top rack on tour pac. The problem I was having was that a sagging bag on the seat or a blowing strap end would marr the clearcoat and I was constantly polishing the marrs out with a lot of elbow grease and time to restore the luster. What little the bra marrs it is nothing and doesn't have to be polished out but once if I ever decide I want to go braless. LOL A hint for minimizing scuffing underneath the bra is to not let a lot of dirt, sand, and debree build up under them. I've been using them for a number of years and watching the paint real close. I haven't seen any marks that couldn't be easily polished out like I had to do after every trip before I had them. Actually I have grown to like the looks of them very much and get a lot of compliments on them. Most people can guess the paint color underneath since the rest of the bike is black.
I used to put the fairing bra and saddlebag covers on before making a road trip, but now I leave the fairing bra on almost all the time. When I wash the bike I take the covers off, spray the fleece out real well with water and let them dry for a day or two before reinstalling.
I have the saddlebag lid covers. I got a scratch the last time I strapped a bag to the luggage rack. Bought these guys and I'm all set. Plus, it really helps when the gal in back drags her foot across one. Yikes !!!
