Default Thunder Mountain

My local dealer, Ray Price HD, has several Thunder Mountain bikes in stock. They use about 90% Harley parts including the SE motors but do their own frames and custom paint.. These things look much better than Big Dog etc to me but are way expensive. Any of you guys had a chance to look at these bikes yet?

Seen quite a few at dealerships, good looking bikes, but your right, way too expensive for what you get.

i used to service them at the dealer i worked at. Now, on my own i have 2 customers with them...They really are decent bikes. I work on one with a 103 motor and one with the older jims 20 motor...A few problems with that 120 and the right side drive unit, but basically good bikes..

My only concern about these expensive customs would be resale value down the road. They sure look nice though!

Have a buddy who bought one of the baggers. Has had it back to them and in their shop for quite some time due to "wobble" in the front end. Spent several months there right after he bought it. Maybe had something to do with the rake in the neck and all.....just guessing! Still, pay that much money to have it sit in their shop for so long is a b***h.

He was told that no paint job was reproduced either. I could have swore I saw one sitting in Low Country Harley in the summer of 07 that was a spitting image of his. Maybe not if you had both sitting side by side as there are bound to be subtle differences on any hand painted bikes. Came to be a pain in the *** after his accident, Insurance company tried to get a painter in South Florida to fix the bags, lower cost thing. He totally screwed it up, so they wound up sending it back to where they should have to begin with. All in all, he has had very little time to ride the thing, so I don't think it was worth the extra money in the long run. Don't get me wrong, it is one fine looking ride, it's just that i would rather ride than sit and admire..............

I bought a used one a couple of years ago, which was essentially new due to very low miles. Keystone. I have put about 12k miles on the bike, and have had no issues. It has the 103 with the JMS 6 speed and right side drive.
