Anyone using the thundermax auto tune system for their bikes? What is supposed to be so great about this that they can charge almost 3 times as much as a Power Commander?

 

The great feature is their "Autotune". Load up the T-max with a base map that is close to your set-up and then install and ride. The unit will make adjustments to the map as you ride.

Some people have had great success with the T-max and others said their bikes never ran correctly.

Now with the PC V coming out we will see how Dynojets new unit stacks up to the competition and to its predecessor the PC III.

 

There is a big difference between the 2 products. The Power Commander is a piggyback module that works in conjuction with your stock ECM, while the Thundermax is actually a replacement ECM that is programmable and with the Auto tune is a complete closed loop system. ( note there is also now a Auto Tune module available for the new Power Commander V as well) In the end, considering with the Thundermax you are getting a complete ECM along with the extensive amount of R&D that goes into reverse engineering the product it is actually a very good value and both products work excellent for their intended applications.

 

No more retarded dyno tuners. After tweaking the cruse for better fuel economy, I think it is great!
